Gorgeous Trout Lake Wedding in the Poconos, PA
I photographed this Trout Lake wedding in the Poconos for Moirae Co. Photo & Film.
Emotional First Looks
My oh my, was the love and joy of this couple and their people evident all day long!!! The bride and groom’s first look was filled with happy tears before, during and after. It was easy to see love radiating from this sweet couple! Not too long after, we set up a first look for the bride and her father. These first looks are always special, but this one was extra sweet! Both the bride and her father could not stop smiling as salt streamed down their cheeks. It was such a beautiful moment!
Outdoor Ceremony
These two tied the knot outside on a beautiful, late summer afternoon on the banks of Trout Lake in the Poconos. The Poconos is known for its beautiful lakes and scenery, and this wedding location absolutely lives up to that standard! The arbor was set up underneath a beautiful tree, and the guests faced the couple and the stunning Trout Lake behind them. It was only a short walk down from the venue itself, which was great for older family members!!
Breathtaking Portraits
I know I’m pretty biased when I say this, but this couples’ wedding portraits are out of this world incredible!!! The Poconos woods scenery includes tall pine trees and ferns covering the ground, catching the light beautifully yet still bringing the focus to the couple! And the lake was, well, perfect. A horizontal dock allowed us to photograph the couples reflection in the water along with the rolling, woodsy hills in the background. Even though there was cloud cover at sunset, I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect portrait setting!!
The Poconos is my favorite place to photograph weddings for this reason. I’m a sucker for the natural beauty and the more private nature of the location, far away from the city. (If you want to see more Poconos wedding photos, check out this intimate backyard wedding!)
High-Energy Reception
One thing is for sure – this wedding knew how to bring the party!!! The dance floor was packed all night long. There were conga lines, traditional Ukrainian dances and dance circles galore! The bride’s parents were stars on the dance floor which was so much fun to watch. After a romantic, tear-filled last dance, the newlyweds grabbed a bottle of wine and headed to their sparkler exit! They ran hand-in-hand through cheering guests with the biggest smiles on their faces, ending with my favorite sparkler exit photo of all time.
