Joyful, Romantic Garden Party Wedding at Terrain in Devon, PA
Danielle and Luke know how to express joy, that’s for sure!!!!! As a Pennsylvania wedding photographer, I see tons of wedding days. Some are packed with joy, and others are filled with intention & meaning. And then there are wedding days like Danielle and Luke’s, overflowing with laughter, emotion and the kind of energy you can feel in every single photo!!! Their garden party wedding at Terrain right outside of Philadelphia was the perfect blend of heartfelt moments and pure fun, set against a beautiful outdoor backdrop and surrounded by the people they love most!!
From Engagement to “I Do”
I first met Danielle back in 2022 at her sister-in-law’s wedding, which was already a top-tier celebration. But it was during Danielle and Luke’s engagement session in the winter of 2023 that I really got to see their connection up close. It was freezing, but they were newly engaged and absolutely beaming the whole entire time!!!
Fast forward to 2024 (and I mean it – time flew by!!) and it was finally their wedding day!! Seeing couples again after their engagement session is always special, but watching Danielle and Luke step into marriage felt extra meaningful after witnessing their journey from the beginning. 🫶🏼
A Garden Party Wedding Filled With Meaningful First Looks
Their wedding day began with one of my favorite timelines – multiple first looks that allowed space for emotion and connection before the ceremony. Those first looks allowed them to be present at cocktail hour, the part of their day that really made it a garden party wedding!!
Danielle first shared a quiet, emotional moment with her dad, followed by a loud & laughter-filled first look with her brothers. All of her brothers wore blue ties as her something blue, which made the moment even more meaningful!! Then came Danielle and Luke’s first look, where they exchanged private vows together. There were lots of happy tears and it set such a grounded yet joyful tone for the rest of the day.
A Personal Ceremony in a Beautiful Outdoor Setting
After wrapping up wedding party and family photos quickly to beat the hot sun, it was time for the ceremony. Danielle’s oldest brother officiated, which made the ceremony incredibly personal and heartfelt (and funny!!). There is something so special about being married by someone who truly knows your story.
Luke absolutely nailed the dip kiss at the end of the aisle, and the joy on their faces was contagious!! After the ceremony, they shared a short private moment together before heading into married portraits and then straight into a garden party cocktail hour with their people.
A Reception Full of Joy and Personality
The rest of the day truly flew by. Danielle and Luke shared a beautiful first dance, followed by a heartfelt toast from Danielle’s dad. The maid of honor and best men delivered speeches that were equal parts emotional and hilarious, keeping everyone laughing and wiping away happy tears!!
Parent dances were sweet and meaningful, and once the dance floor opened, the energy skyrocketed!!! From a human tunnel to a fanny pack limbo, the dance floor stayed packed all night long – the best kind of dance floor!!
Later in the evening, guests enjoyed Chick-fil-A, s’mores by the fire pit,and cozy conversations under twinkle lights. We snuck away for nighttime portraits that perfectly captured the magic of their garden party wedding setting. ✨
The night ended with a high-energy sparkler sendoff that felt like the perfect closing chapter to such an unforgettable celebration!!
Why Garden Party Weddings Are So Timeless
Garden party weddings are having a moment, and for good reason. They are romantic, relaxed and deeply personal. The natural setting allows couples to focus on connection rather than production, while still feeling elevated and intentional!!
Danielle and Luke, thank you for trusting me to document such an important chapter of your story. It was truly an honor to be there!!! Congratulations to The Tillgers and cheers to a lifetime of joy together!! 🥰
