FOUR reasons why engagement sessions are important!

I LOVE ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS. No, seriously. I love them. I think they’re SO much fun. You’re super duper in love, all caught up in the fresh promise of “forever”. There’s so much more flexibility — no wedding day timelines to stick to — and we can make the session whatever you want it to be!!

Besides being awesome, engagement sessions serve some important needs to engaged couples. There are so many things I could list here, but to keep things concise, here are FOUR reasons why engagement sessions are actually really important!!

  1. It gives you & your fiancé the opportunity to get used to the sound of my camera and doing a little PDA in front of the lens 😉 If you already feel comfortable being yourselves around me & my camera, that opens the door for some really intimate candids and portraits on your wedding day! It’s not every day that you’re asked to repeatedly kiss the cheek of your significant other while a camera fires off pictures three feet away. But I PROMISE your images will be worth the time spent getting used to being photographed.
  2. It gives you a massive array of photos to use for your save-the-dates & wedding invitations!! Pictures bring the mundane to life. To be honest, I’m much more likely to hang a save-the-date on my refrigerator if a gorgeous photo of my friend and her fiancé are presented beautifully on the front!
  3. It provides instant personalization for your wedding website and/or FaceBook page – just add these photos and BAM, you have a gorgeous website AND a beautiful guest experience before the wedding even starts! More likely than not, there will be people you invite to your wedding that know you personally, but they might not be as familiar with the you + him/her package. Show them some photos of you two frolicking around, hand-in-hand and hopelessly in love!!
  4. Honestly, can you ever have enough photos of you & your favorite person?? (I think not!) Honor this once-in-a-lifetime season with forever pictures!

I’m obviously a little biased, but I think engagement session are SO beneficial to your overall wedding experience. Plus, they’re so much fun for me to photograph 🙂

“Hiring Gabriella as our photographer was the single best decision we made on wedding day. Because we had an intimate elopement at town hall, it was important to us to capture the small details and intimate moments in a way that we could look back on our day and feel like we are reliving it. Well, Gabriella’s work does just that. She exceeded our expectations and we could not be happier with our gallery.
