Jemma and Brant’s Classic Catholic Wedding in Philadelphia
Introducing … The Sherwoods!! Jemma and Brant celebrated their marriage with a timeless Catholic church wedding ceremony and a high-energy reception in Philadelphia. From their engagement session at Longwood Gardens to their Old City portraits and reception festivities, their day was packed with meaningful moments and intentional details.

Engagement Session at Longwood Gardens
I first met Jemma and Brant during their fall engagement session at Longwood Gardens and downtown West Chester. Their pup, Tucker, made a special appearance during the shoot and even inspired their wedding day signature cocktail: the “Gin & Tuck.” How cute?!
Getting Ready with the Bridal Party
The wedding day began with Jemma getting ready alongside her bridesmaids, sisters, and mom. Everyone wore matching pajamas and the vibe was energetic and fun, with Katy Perry playing in the background. Jemma was helped into her dress by her two maids of honor, her sisters, and her mom – surrounded by her closest people. Before heading to the ceremony, she shared a first look with her dad.
Rainy Start and Ceremony at a Philadelphia Catholic Church
Just as the wedding party boarded the shuttle to the church, a heavy rainstorm rolled in. And by heavy, I mean absolute DOWNPOUR. But the timing worked out perfectly – the bridal party stayed dry and enjoyed a few extra minutes on the party bus, while the groomsmen greeted guests with umbrellas. By the time the bride needed to be in the church to start the ceremony, the rain cleared up!
The ceremony took place in one of the most beautiful Catholic churches in Philadelphia. Brant’s reaction to seeing Jemma walk down the aisle was emotional, and the couple exchanged quiet smiles throughout the mass.
Wedding Portraits in Old City Philadelphia
After the ceremony, we headed to Old City for wedding party portraits and couples photos. The light and backdrop were perfect for timeless, classic images! We wrapped up photos in time for Jemma and Brant to attend cocktail hour and spend time with their guests.
Reception Highlights: First Dance, Mummers, and Cold Sparklers
The Sherwoods kicked off their reception with a choreographed first dance, followed by heartfelt speeches and surprise entertainment. Highlights included cold sparkler effects, a dress change, and a lively Mummers performance! The energy on the dance floor never slowed down.
A Joyful Philadelphia Wedding Celebration
From start to finish, Jemma and Brant’s day was full of love, family, and celebration. Their vendor team helped bring every part of the vision to life, and it was an honor to document it all. Congrats to the newlyweds!!
