If you have ever wondered whether you should stretch your wedding into a full two day wedding weekend, Pat and Haley’s celebration is all the convincing you will ever need!! As a Lehigh Valley wedding photographer, I get to see a lot of incredible wedding days. But this Bethlehem backyard wedding was something a little extra special from start to finish.

Pat and Haley hosted their entire weekend in their own backyard in Bethlehem, and it was so stunning it could have doubled as a full wedding venue! They chose to split their celebration into two days. Day one was an intimate ceremony with just thirty of their closest family and friends. Day two was the ultimate reception party!

Below is a look inside one of my favorite backyard weddings in the Lehigh Valley!!

Day One

An Intimate Backyard Ceremony in Bethlehem

Although Pat and Haley were already legally married before their wedding weekend, they finally had the chance to celebrate with their people. Their backyard transformed into the most beautiful garden inspired space: The patio became a chic bar. The ceremony spot featured soft white cloth draped across a tree that created a dreamy arbor. Rustic farm tables lined the yard with individualized place settings (a personalized letter written to every single guest!!). A clear tent stood in the center with professional string lights glowing across the whole property. It was stunning!!! Keira from silk + honey events really outdid herself with this one!

Some of my favorite moments from day one:

• Haley wrapped Pat in the biggest hug after she walked down the aisle.
• Their daughter ran down the aisle, belly flopped, then popped back up grinning from ear to ear.
• The wedding party said yes to every creative photo idea I threw at them and the resulting photos were so worth it!
• Pat and Haley wrote personalized notes to every guest and placed them at each place setting.
• The intimate group shared meaningful speeches that told the story of their relationship and highlighted what incredible parents they are. (Cue all the happy tears!!!)

This part of their two day wedding weekend had the sweetest energy – it was heartfelt, emotional, and full of those candid moments that make a backyard wedding so special 🙂

Day Two

A Stylish, Classy Hamptons-Inspired Backyard Reception

If day one felt like a floral garden party, day two brought elevated Hamptons vibes to the Lehigh Valley!! Pat swapped his tan linen suit for a sleek tux with a white jacket. Haley changed into a silk, long sleeve, backless gown with a small train that made dancing a breeze. Guests arrived dressed fully in black which made the whole evening feel incredibly aesthetic and modern!

The day kicked off at the Hotel Bethlehem bar with their wedding party. Everyone had drinks, chatted and soaked up the excitement before taking the long scenic route back to the house on the party bus. We knocked out wedding party and family photos right away so they could enjoy the entire reception without interruption – something I help a majority of my couples prioritize on their wedding day!

Of course, I snuck away with Haley & Pat for a few couples portraits because they looks absolutely incredible in their day two outfits! In just a short amount of time we created some truly stunning images. Then they went straight back to their people because this party was ready to go!!

The reception had everything:

• Haley’s dad gave another emotional speech that had everyone tearing up again
• Pat’s best men kicked off the dancing
• The dance floor stayed packed all night
• Haley’s bridesmaids performed a poem they wrote about the couple, which ended with a group tequila shot for everyone on the dance floor

Why I Loved Photographing This Lehigh Valley Backyard Wedding

Backyard weddings are always deeply personal, but a two day wedding weekend creates even more room for connection and storytelling.
