Jared & Kristen are MARRIED!! *cue January Wedding by The Avett Brothers*

These two sweet humans decided to wed in January after eleven years by each other’s side (and a few cats along the way). They got married in a courthouse elopement in Madison, NJ. It was an intimate day, focused on their love for each other and their union. I feel so blessed to have been let in to capture all the joy & happy tears!!

Pre-Ceremony Pictures

The day started at a super cool restaurant/hotel combo for some pre-ceremony photos. Rod’s Steakhouse and The Madison Hotel, to be specific! I photographed the rings, vow books and bouquet, and then we had a cute cake cutting moment!! Bc when you elope, you’re allowed to have dessert before dinner. 😉

After some intimate couples photos in a restaurant caboose (yes, a train caboose attached to a restaurant), we headed to the hotel for Kristen & Jared to share private vows in a less cramped space. They decided to share private vows before the ceremony instead of during the ceremony so what they said was kept purely between the two of them. We were able to utilize this gorgeous room where all the walls and the entire ceiling was made of windows, so the sunlight streaming in made the moment seem straight out of a fairytale!! A healthy amount of happy tears later, we took off for the place they would seal the deal – Madison Town Hall.

Intimate Courthouse Elopement

This building is gorgeous both outside and in!! The room where the ceremony took place had black and white checkered floors, super old paintings and – randomly – one of Abraham Lincoln’s desks! The added history element made their elopement there even more special. Kristen’s sister and brother in law witnessed their marriage, and I got a super sweet photo of them arm-in-arm watching Kristen and Jared say “I do” 🥹 A few moments later, they sealed the deal with a kiss and officially became Mr. & Mrs.!!!! And when I tell you the JOY that overflowed from the two of them … it was so, so beautiful 🫶🏼

I am incredibly happy for Jared & Kristen – their love for each other was SO evident with all the happy tears, with the gentle kindness they treated each other with, and with all the soft “I love you’s” whispered throughout the day. Major congratulations to the newlyweds!!! 🥰
