3 reasons to do an engagement session immediately after proposing

Guys, this one’s for YOU! Here’s 3 reasons why you should do an engagement session immediately after proposing:

1. Capture the feeling!!!! Asking the love of your life to marry you is a preeeetty big deal, and the emotions that come with saying “yes” to forever — joy, shock, love, nerves, can’t-see-straight excitement — having that moment AND all that comes with it captured on camera is SUCH a beautiful thing.

2. Y’all are already dolled up!!! In most cases, you’re both going to be dressed up one way or another for the occasion. Why not go right into an engagement session in your best outfit?! And this way, you won’t overthink it — you & your partner will be wearing something nice, yes, BUT it will be something that is authentic to the both of you.

3. Time to process the moment together!! You might be thinking “lol wut not with a camera sticking in my face” … and I get that. But it’s really not like that at all — I give my couples plenty of time and space during the session to chat about the proposal and process the meaning of it together. I do some up close shots, yes, but I also make sure to have lots of far-away photos so you two can have one-on-one time. AND you don’t have the urge to go on your phones and tell everyone else immediately when you’re getting your photos taken with the love of your life! That way you can process together before telling the world 🙂

To all my couples out there, what do you think?? It’s totally valid to want to wait to do an engagement session after the initial proposal, but there are some perks to doing one right away. Which would you prefer?
