Fiances, I PROMISE you this: “getting ready” photos are 110% worth it.

I might be a liiiiiittle bit biased, but here’s why:

1. The quiet moments // Your wedding day is going to be crazy in the best way no matter what. Even if you decide to have a super intimate wedding with family and a few friends, you’re going to be full of emotion, day-of logistics will constantly be considered and all the effort you put into looking extra special for your big day will pale in comparison to the moment you get married. I think it’s important to document the WHOLE day, including those quiet moment leading up to the momentous ones.

2. The details // I’m going to take a wild guess here and say that you spent more than a few seconds picking out your dress, shoes, jewelry, flowers, veil, makeup, etc for the big day. Even though detail pictures might not be printed out as an 8×10 photo and hung in the middle of your living room, they serve as a beautiful accent picture and reminder of all the care and thought that went into your big day. Oh, and they make *great* additions to your wedding album 😉

3. The candids // I mean I’m going to be taking candid pictures alllll day long, BUT with everything going on on your wedding day there won’t be many opportunities for candids with ~your people~ throughout the day. Your bridesmaids, your parents, your flower girl, your best friend — those are the candids you’ll cherish the most. Getting ready pictures will allow for more of those to save for forever 🙂
