Philadelphia City Hall Proposal
Brandon wanted his City Hall proposal to be photographed so he could remember the special moment with Nasia forever. *enter Gabriella Marie Photography*
The Planning Process
Brandon and I stayed in touch for a few weeks leading up to the proposal. Both he and I made trips to Center City to scout the perfect spot. We sent multiple pictures and messages to confirm the exact time & place he would get down on one knee. There was a chance of rain leading up to the big ask, but the day ended up being warm and sunny!!!
The Big Day
I got to the spot about 30 minutes early just to be safe. Yes, I was the weirdo hanging out at the intersection with cameras dangling from her shoulders. Anywho, I walked onto the median a few minutes before they were set to arrive so I could be fully prepared. Soon enough, I saw Brandon & Nasia walking hand-in-hand on the sidewalk in my direction. I started taking pictures of city hall, pretending to be a tourist, until I saw them start to cross the street toward the median.
Side note – my heart was POUNDING here. I can’t imagine how Brandon felt!!
After saying a few words to Nasia, Brandon got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She covered her mouth with her hand and said yes!!!! I photographed the next few moments before crossing the street to their median to congratulate them.
Surprises on Surprises
After making a few photos at the proposal spot, we all decided to head towards a shady spot to continue the photo session. I knew Brandon had plans after so I didn’t want to take up too much time! We found a cute, shaded alleyway with a cobblestone road a few blocks away and took some pictures there. I made sure to use my zoom lens so I could give Brandon & Nasia some space to talk about what just happened!!
Then Brandon surprised Nasia with all their friends at Attico, the rooftop bar!! I joined them for a few minutes to capture the joyful reactions of their loved ones before leaving them to celebrate without a camera.
Congratulations, you two – I can’t wait to photograph your wedding!!!
