Golden, Autumn Carpenter’s Hall Couples Session
Sally and Zach were blessed with the most golden sunshine at their Carpenter’s Hall couples session this fall!!! The leaves had not yet fully turned (despite being late October) but we still embraced all the color around us.
Story time! Sally and Zach got married in an intimate, backyard ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends. They met on the alpine ski team at the University of Wisconsin (how cool?!) and tied the knot before moving to Philadelphia in 2022. Since they didn’t have a photographer at their intimate wedding, they wanted to have professional photos taken in their new city. What better way to decorate the walls of your new apartment than with photos of your love?
Carpenter’s Hall
Carpenter’s Hall is one of my favorite places to do couples and engagement sessions in the city!!! There is a lot of variation in a small area: cityscape, cool architecture, cobblestone roads, grassy hills, beautiful trees and European-style gardens. I mean, how awesome does that sound?! And the best part? It’s beautiful year-round.
The backyard area of Carpenter’s Hall is also perfect for a picnic to start your session, which is exactly what Sally and Zach chose to do. While they didn’t bring any food, we used the blanket for some sitting and laying photos. This is a great way to add variation to your gallery!
Washington Square Park
I always end my Carpenter’s Hall couples and engagement sessions at Washington Square Park. It’s two blocks away and provides a whole different vibe to the session. The wide walkways provide depth and the tall trees add a sense of awe. If that wasn’t enough, there is a super cool ivy wall half a block away that makes for a fun and aesthetically pleasing way to end the session. Slam dunk all around!!
