Romantic City Hall Elopement in Center City Philadelphia
John & Molly are MARRIED!!! After 9 years together, they made it officially official with a Philadelphia City Hall elopement surrounded by their loving family. 🫶🏼 It was such a beautiful day inside & out and I am so honored I got to photograph their marriage!! Especially after photographing the moment Molly said “yes” to John’s proposal in the absolute pouring rain a few months prior. (See their hurricane proposal here!)
Unique First Look Location for a City Hall Elopement
I arrived early to City Hall to scope out the gorgeous rooms we’d be in. What I didn’t expect was just how insanely beautiful the inside of City Hall would be. 🤯 Like, wow!!! I decided the staircase would be a beautiful spot for John & Molly to have their first look. It was definitely one of the coolest spots I’ve photographed a first look to date!!
Molly arrived literally shaking with excitement. 🥹 I set them up for the first look as quickly as possible so John could see his STUNNING bride and Molly could hug her favorite person!! It was such a sweet moment filled with giant smiles and happy tears.
Couples Portraits Around Center City Philadelphia
After the first look, we walked around City Hall for some couples portraits. And dear goodness, did these two CRUSH the photos!!!! We were able to get a lot of variety in a short period of time, which is always my goal as a wedding photographer.
Since they were eloping at City Hall, we walked down S Broad Street to get a shot of City Hall in the background from the median!! It was very chilly on this sunny November day, but Molly and John didn’t seem to care. They were too excited to be getting married! After “the shot” of City Hall, I was able to snap some cute portraits walking back down Broad Street. There was a stunning patch of sunlight right in front of City Hall that made for one of my favorites of the day! And we ended in the tunnel underneath the building for a romantic, city-vibes series of portraits.
Reciting Vows in the Mayor’s Reception Room
When it came time for the wedding, their families watched on with teary eyes and giant smiles as Molly & John pledged forever to each other in front of a Philly judge. It was so beautiful! And because of the intimate nature of their City Hall elopement, they got to hug their families right away!!!
Before heading up to cocktail hour, we snuck off to an empty room with a jaw-dropping chandelier for a few photos. John & Molly practiced their first dance & it was such a beautiful moment 🥰
Intimate Reception in the Law Library
A few moments later, they crushed their first dance and scored a roaring applause from their happy families!!! John finished by lifting Molly up in the air and the JOY on their faces is just PERFECT!!!
Major congratulations to these two sweethearts – finally married 🫶🏼
