My Top 5 Philly Session Locations
I love my city. Though we may complain about the traffic or the potholes or the ruthless Parking Authority — we Philadelphians have an unbreakable affinity for our home city. Lucky for us, it’s a pretty dang photogenic place. Here are my top 5 favorite locations in Philly for a couples/engagement session (in no particular order):
-
Art Museum
Besides being an iconic Philly landmark, the Art Museum has a spectacular view of the city skyline (especially at golden hour), a gazebo overlooking the Schuylkill River, neutral walls that make for great backdrops, an access point to the Schuylkill River Trail and so. much. more. -
Center City
I mean City Hall is gorgeous and is a must-have shot for Philly lovers. Love Park is right across the street, and there are tons of moody brick/ivy-covered walls to play around with, especially harsh shadows. -
Rittenhouse Square
There are SO many great photo spots in the park itself, but it’s also surrounded by cobblestone roads and cute, funky buildings. It’s also walking distance to the Schuylkill River Trail which, if you can’t tell, I’m a huge fan of. -
Wissahickon Trail Park
Are you a fan of nature but don’t feel like driving to a state park or getting all sweaty on a strenuous hike? This trail is perfect! And lucky for you, I run there alllll the time so I’m constantly on the hunt for new locations for photos within the park. -
Old City
Independence Hall, Penn’s Landing AND the Ben Franklin Bridge?! With a little bit of walking, we can hit a lot of major landmarks (and hidden, romantic alleyways) in just one session.
Disclaimer: Your couples/engagement session should reflect YOUR relationship. If you have another place around Philly in mind that has a special place in your heart, BY ALL MEANS get photos taken there!! These are just some of my favorite places to photograph couples around the city 🙂
