Old City Philly Winter Engagement Session
Danielle and Luke’s Old City Philly winter engagement session was the epitome of the word “joyful”!!!! These two love birds were all smiles and giggles as we took photos throughout Old City to celebrate their engagement. AND they got to cap off the session by going to the Eagles playoff game against the Giants!! So of course we had to throw some Eagles gear in there. These two are so much fun!!!
When the three of us were brainstorming for their engagement session, we knew it had to take place in Philly. They live in the city and wanted to pay homage to the place they got engaged. Danielle also mentioned a photo I had taken of them dancing at a wedding reception last summer. The photo was of them laughing while dancing together – something that defines their relationship! It was her favorite photo of them together, so I made sure there would be plenty of opportunities to smile & laugh during their engagement session. I can’t freaking WAIT for them to get married!!!!!! 🤩
Old City Philadelphia
When we first talked about their engagement photos, I sent Danielle and Luke a few of my favorite locations in the city. There were a few key reasons we landed on Old City Philly for their engagement photos. First, there is a huge amount of variation in a relatively small area. With only a few blocks to cover, your gallery can included a multitude of different images! Second, it was quintessentially Philly – cobblestone roads, Washington Square Park, the history of the First Bank, etc. Last but not least, it was close to the location Danielle & Luke wanted to end their session at – Addison Street!
Winter Engagement Session
It’s not super common to get engagement photos done in the winter, but there are quite a few pros to doing so. First, it’s not crowded!! With the exception of a few passersby, you can feel like you have whole sections of the city to yourself. That doesn’t happen in the summer! Second, it’s really easy to get variation in outfits without even changing – just take your coat on & off!! Third, the neutral palate of the bare trees takes away distracting color and allows the photos to focus solely on you.
