3 Things to Consider with WIND for your Outdoor Ceremony
You’ve been dreaming of the perfect outdoor ceremony since who knows when, and you’ve found the perfect venue to make those dreams come true. While you’ve probably pondered the possibility of rain on your big day, have you thought about the other ways Mother Nature might throw a wrench in the plan? Today I’m giving you three tips to help you deal with the often-overlooked but equally-as-problematic element — wind.
Updo to the Rescue!
Picture this: the wind suddenly blowing your hair into your face just as you’re about to say your vows. Not ideal, right? A partial or full updo can make sure your hair doesn’t become a bird’s nest, or ruin any picture perfect moments. Securing your luscious locks will help keep things from getting too windblown. And for those of you who have always dreamt of wearing their hair down in a gleaming waterfall, you could consider a transitional style or keep your hairdresser on call to help put your hair down for the party!
Secure Those Decorations!
If you’ve got standing or not-so-secure decorations at your ceremony site, make sure they’re tied down or weighted. The last thing you want is for your carefully chosen decor to take flight during your vows. A little extra precaution means your ceremony stays picturesque and drama free!
Veil on Lock!
Don’t let your veil become the star of a windy spectacle. Secure it tightly to your scalp to avoid any Katy Perry “plastic bag” moments. Bonus tip: Position yourself on the side where the wind is blowing into you, so your veil gracefully flies back, instead of into your body. Wind blown veil photo? Yes, please!
I hope you found these tips for a windy wedding day, helpful! And while wind may become enemy number one, it doesn’t have to stop you from having the day you’ve dreamed about!
