Lower East Side Manhattan Engagement Photo Session at Golden Hour

Sarah & Jake are getting MARRIED!!!! And they frolicked around their favorite spots in the Lower East Side of Manhattan to celebrate 🥰

WOW did these two crush their photo session!!! Massive thank you to these two for just being adorable in general and also saying yes to all my crazy photo ideas. 🤪 We had the most fun running around NYC (and we were blessed with the PERFECT weather)! 🫶🏼 They love their little corner of the city so we highlighted some of their favorite spots during their engagement session!!

A Very Manhattan Engagement Photo Session

Katz’s Deli and Russ & Daughters were def high up on the photo list. I mean, it was a Manhattan engagement photo session, was it not?! The sun was SHINING and creating such beautiful pockets of light in these little walkways and mini parks around town. So we made quite a few sunshine detours along the way! We had planned to get some slow shutter speed photos as well, to capture the busyness of the city. And we hit the JACKPOT with a photo a yellow taxi driving behind Sarah & Jake as they were standing in front of Katz’s Deli!!! 🤩

Incorporating Activities Into Photos

We also visited a super cute bar, where they shared a drink (and some laughs)!! A very kind truck driver let us get a cool running shot in the street in front of the bar. Those through-the-window photos at the bar are some of my fav!

I love incorporating activities into engagement photos, especially if it’s something the couple loves to do. I know Sarah and Jake enjoy cocktails at cute bars – they actually met at Plough & The Stars in Philadelphia!! So making time in the session for them to do what they love already makes for some authentic images that feel true to them.

Rooftops & Dogs Are Always Good Ideas

The session ended on the roof of their building with incredible views of the city. But the best view of all was their cute pup, Roo!! She stole the show with her spunky personality and curious face 🥹 I had so much fun at this Manhattan engagement photo session and I can’t wait to get Roo’s parents married!
