Olivia and Alex had the most dreamy, romantic Longwood Christmas engagement session this winter!! Longwood Gardens goes ~all out~ with its Christmas design & decor. The magical setting enhanced the beautiful love that Olivia and Alex share!

Dreamy Engagement Session

Olivia and Alex are so meant for each other. Olivia couldn’t stop giggling the entire time, and Alex smiled so big whenever he looked at Olivia! Since it was quite chilly and a bit rainy outside, we spent most of our time inside the conservatory. None of us minded – the conservatory is drop-dead gorgeous and has so much variation for photos!! We even discovered some new hidden photo spots as we made our way through the conservatory. All the twinkle lights from the Longwood Christmas decor added to the already romantic feel of the location, and Olivia & Alex’s love shone beautifully through in all the photos.

Olivia told me she wanted some blurry photos to add to the nostalgia and romance of their engagement photos. I made sure to incorporate them toward the end of the session (after we had gotten plenty of non-blurry shots!). One of my favorites was Olivia & Alex running hand-in-hand in front of a plant wall! They look like two lovers who are caught up in the joy & bliss of the moment.

To end the session, Olivia & Alex had an outfit change and we went outside. We started using clear umbrellas to avoid the drizzle but it stopped pretty much right away! As we made our way down to the row of fountains, we were blessed with the most beautiful, electric pink sunset!!! What a way to end the session 😍

A Longwood Christmas

December is one of the most popular times to visit Longwood Gardens because of the Christmas-themed design of the gardens. Beyond the insane landscaping, there are a ton of twinkle lights and multiple massive Christmas trees that each have a unique decoration theme! Longwood Gardens already screams romance, so the nostalgia of Christmas decor added to that is pure magic. It’s one of my favorite engagement session locations for a reason!!!

The only thing to note about Longwood Christmas engagement photos is that everyone and their mother also wants to see the display. It will be crowded. However, as you can see in Olivia & Alex’s photos, it is totally possible to make your photos look like there was nobody else there!!
